About

About Theresa

Fifteen years, one treatment room, and no two sessions the same.

I came to this work sideways. I spent my twenties at a desk, wrecked my neck doing it, and got sent to a massage therapist by a physical therapist who had run out of ideas. An hour later I could turn my head. I retrained the following year.

Since then I have worked with office workers, gardeners, nurses, two marathon runners and a great many people who simply had not stopped in a very long time. What they have in common is that nothing about their body is quite like the diagram in the textbook.

So I do not have a routine. I have a pair of hands, a reasonable knowledge of anatomy, and the habit of asking before assuming. If you want deep work, you will get it. If you want to be left alone in a warm room while someone works on your shoulders, that is also the right answer.

How I work

Four things you can count on

One person at a time

No waiting room, no overlap, no rushing you out. Your appointment is the only one on the calendar for that hour.

You are in charge

You choose what to undress, what to have worked on, and how hard. "Could you ease off" is always the right thing to say.

No selling

I will not push a course of ten sessions on you. If you need something I do not do — physical therapy, a doctor, a chiropractor — I will say so.

A calm room

Warm, quiet, clean, and no scented candles unless you want one. Fresh linens every session.

Still deciding?

If you are nervous, or it has been years, say so in the notes when you book. Or call first. I would rather answer a question than have you not come.
